That's not what I said. I said Spaniards are not all white. Many Arabs, blacks and people of Asian ancestry come from Spain. It has nothing to do with? "becoming a citizen" -- natural Spaniard citizens are not all "Caucasian" either. Your generalization was wrong.

No. "Spaniard" is a national/border identification label and has nothing to do with race. Spaniards can be white, Latino, black, or any other race -- if they choose to live in Spain. Not everyone who's a? Spaniard is white.

I am a Puerto Rican, so I can relate to your definition. I got tired of White Americans asking me if I was "spanish" (of course,? I had to then inform them I speak Spanish but I am not Spanish). I would then get ignorant Puerto Ricans who when speaking about their heritage (usually newyoricans....), they'd refer to themselves as Spanish. I actually prefer Latino, because it means I have Spanish heritage, but I also have a mix of other Spainish "conquered" races. :)
